Nothing has been steadily hyping up its sub-brand's CMF Phone 2 Pro ahead of its April 28 launch. Like its predecessor, it will come with a quirky design. Unfortunately, the two devices will have a lot more in similar than just that.
An alleged Geekbench listing of what looks like the CMF Phone 2 Pro (codename Nothing A001) shows it to run a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC with an Arm Mali-G615 MP2 GPU, 4x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. This particular variant packed 8 GB of RAM and ran Android 15.
Shortly after the Geekbench listing surfaced, the official CMF X handle chimed in, stating the chip in question isn't a Dimensity 7300 but a Dimensity 7300 Pro. Exactly how the two differ remains unknown because MediaTek is yet to officially list a chip called the Dimensity 7300 Pro. Either way, those looking for a SoC upgrade on the CMF Phone 2 Pro might end up disappointed.
The primary difference between the CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro might be hidden in other components that haven't been shown off so far, like the camera. Overall, it doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade, which isn't terribly surprising because the CMF's whole point is to offer low-cost alternatives to Nothing devices.
